A mild-to-moderate expletive expressing frustration or bad luck. Common across Latin America. Softer than more vulgar alternatives and widely used on television.
Literally 'to make a front to'. Used broadly to mean confronting a challenge or opponent. In a poker context it means to call or match a bet. The meaning shifts enough by context that the poker use is not immediately obvious.
A possessive construction used to describe one's defining quality, specialty, or situation. 'Lo mío es la música' means 'music is my thing'. Extremely common in everyday Latin American speech.
Used to urge someone to act with full force or commitment. Common as an exhortation before starting a big effort.
