    expressioncolloquial

One of the most versatile verbs in everyday speech. 'Echarlos' in the episode means to drive the occupiers out. Context always clarifies which sense is intended. The range of meanings (throw, pour, kick out, fire) makes it easy to misread.

  9. 9

    pasar desapercibido

to go unnoticed, to blend in
    expression

A fixed phrase used when someone or something fails to attract attention. 'Desapercibido' is a false cognate trap: it does not mean 'unappreciated' but specifically 'unnoticed'. Used in the episode to argue that a large creature cannot hide.

Con ese sombrero tan brillante, es imposible pasar desapercibida en la multitud. With that shiny hat, it's impossible to go unnoticed in the crowd.
