Patriarchal Pact

Pejorative portmanteau used by characters who oppose feminist viewpoints. Considered offensive and is used in the dialogue to characterise a speaker's hostility towards feminism, not as a neutral descriptor.

Colloquial, slightly playful augmentative form of macho. Used to describe a man who holds or expresses sexist attitudes, often in everyday rather than extreme contexts. Became widespread through feminist discourse in social media.

Borrowed from feminist and progressive discourse. When a man is described as deconstruido, it means he has critically reflected on toxic masculine norms and changed his behaviour accordingly. Used both sincerely and ironically.

Augmentative of pasta (slang for money). Expresses that something costs or earns a great deal of money. Tone is usually one of surprise or admiration.

Literally means to crunch or creak someone alive. Used figuratively to express the intention to ruin or thoroughly defeat someone, especially in a legal or financial context. Strong but not vulgar.

Anglicism used without translation. Refers to men who identify as unable to find romantic or sexual partners and who frequently express misogynistic views online. Used in the dialogue in both a performative and analytical sense.

Fixed idiomatic expression. A mirlo blanco (white blackbird) is something extraordinarily rare and therefore precious. Used to describe a person who has all the qualities one could wish for and is almost impossible to find.

Common idiomatic expression expressing irritation or exasperation caused by another person or situation. Often used with the verb poner: poner de los nervios.
