Carlos and Lidia encounter trouble in their search for Sofía. Carlota visits the western front with James, to Óscar's chagrin. Pablo goes missing.

Extremely strong insult. In everyday speech the male form hijo de puta is far more common, but hija de puta targets a woman directly. Used here in a moment of intense physical threat.
One of the most versatile words in everyday spoken usage. Can urge someone to hurry, express agreement, signal the end of a conversation, or show mild exasperation depending on tone and context.
A firm, direct refusal or rejection of what someone has just said. Conversational and emphatic, often used to cut off a suggestion or excuse.
Idiomatic expression meaning to use personal influence or contacts to get something done, often behind the scenes.
Fixed expression criticising inaction when action is needed. Often used rhetorically as a question to challenge someone.
Humorous fixed comparison implying extreme boredom. The ostra (oyster) is the established cultural reference point for passive, motionless dullness.
Appended to statements to seek confirmation or approval from the listener, or simply to keep the other person engaged. Very common in spoken dialogue across all social registers.
Expresses cautious hope or expectation. Not a simple conditional, it carries a sense of 'I'm waiting to see whether something will finally happen', sometimes with mild impatience.
In informal spoken usage, lo mismo functions as a hedged way of saying 'perhaps' or 'it's possible that', especially when speculating about something uncertain or slightly undesirable.
An urgent hushing sound used to silence someone quickly. Slightly more emphatic than 'shhh' in English, it is a genuine interjection rather than a hiss.
