Plural of 'tontería'. Dismisses what someone is doing or saying as worthless or ridiculous. Mild in tone, often used playfully or in light scolding.
Used to firmly shut down a conversation or behavior that has gone on too long. More forceful than a simple 'para' or 'suficiente'. Common in heated exchanges.
Expresses resigned acceptance when nothing can be done about a situation. Very common in everyday speech across Latin America and among US Spanish speakers.
Used to emphatically confirm or affirm something just said, often with irony or dry humor. The 'si' here is not conditional but emphatic.
Used to introduce an attempt or experiment with uncertain outcome. Has a tentative, slightly hopeful tone. Not simply 'to see if' in a neutral sense, but carries the feel of 'let's give it a shot'.
